Defense Minister Khawaja Asif Rejects Free Electricity for Parliamentarians and Bureaucrats

Islamabad:Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has responded to news of ending free electricity for bureaucrats and judges, stating on social media that parliamentarians do not receive free electricity, and he can show electricity bills of 35 years that he has paid from his own pocket.

Commenting further on the proposal to end free electricity for bureaucrats and judges, Khawaja Asif, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N), emphasized that they should inquire about the electricity bills of bureaucrats and judges.

It is clear that after the Ministry of Energy’s nationwide awareness campaign against Independent Power Producers (IPPs), an emergency plan has been prepared. The plan proposes to end the facility of free electricity in all government and semi-government offices, including bureaucrats, judges, and parliamentarians.

The Energy Division has indicated that in the second phase, the recommendation to withdraw the facility of free petrol will also be considered.
