Karachi to Hyderabad: Decommissioned MD-83 Aircraft Delivered for Aviation Training
Karachi:A decommissioned MD-83 passenger aircraft, which had been transported from Karachi to Hyderabad via the National Highway, has reached its final destination. The aircraft will be used for training purposes at the Civil Aviation Training Institute (CATI).
The MD-83, which had been inactive since December 25, 2011, will now serve as a training tool for aviation students at the institute. The aircraft was transported from Karachi on a trailer, beginning its journey at 4 a.m. and arriving in Hyderabad late last night.
The transport route took the aircraft through Steel Town and Bin Qasim Town, before heading towards Gharo, and from there, it made its way to the Tatta region. The trailer carrying the 150-foot long, 40-ton aircraft continued along the Badin and Sarmast roads before finally reaching its destination in Hyderabad.
The MD-83, originally designed to accommodate 172 passengers, had been out of service for several years but is now being repurposed for educational and training objectives. This new development is expected to offer aviation students hands-on experience with a real commercial aircraft, enhancing their practical training.
