Questions Raised Over Azan Jabar’s Presence in Front Row Alongside Maryam Nawaz at Yaadgar-e-Fatah Ceremony

LAHORE (Qudrat Roznama) – A new debate has been sparked on social media over the seating plan and protocol of the Yaadgar-e-Fatah ceremony held last month, where questions are being raised about the presence of a family member in the front row alongside the top state and military leadership. In this regard, journalist Majid Nizami raised a question on a social media platform: in this important official ceremony held last month, in what constitutional, legal, or official capacity was Azan Jabar, then the would-be and now son-in-law of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, seated in the front row?

Criticizing government protocol, he wrote: Is being Maryam Nawaz’s son-in-law such an important qualification that he gets a place in the row of the President of the country, the Prime Minister, the Deputy Prime Minister, the Chairman Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly, the federal cabinet, the Army Chief, the Air Chief Marshal, the Naval Chief, and the Commander Strategic Command?

Similarly, journalist Adil Nizami wrote in his post that on August 24, when Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz arrived at the ceremony, the journalists present there were also unfamiliar with the personality accompanying her. At the inaugural ceremony of Yaadgar-e-Fatah, when Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz came, no one knew the personality accompanying her. During the ceremony, I also asked journalist friends sitting beside me who this person with her was. Now it has come to light that it was Maryam Nawaz Sahiba’s then would-be son-in-law, Azan Jabar!
