No Room for Any Conspiracy as Long as Field Marshal, PM Duo Remains on Pitch: Talal Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has said there is no room for any political or non-political conspiracy in the country as long as the partnership between Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remains intact.
Speaking during a Geo News programme, Talal Chaudhry said the two key figures were neither people who stabbed others in the back nor hypocrites, but rather individuals who believed in speaking openly and transparently.
He said their positions were clear and their objectives were also well-defined.
The minister maintained that the state could not be forced to take decisions according to someone’s wishes through dictates. He reiterated the government’s earlier position that arranging meetings with prisoners was the authority of jail officials and the courts.

Referring to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Talal Chaudhry said the party had previously refused to accept the 26th Constitutional Amendment, Parliament and the courts, but was now celebrating a court decision.
He said the PTI should have waited before celebrating the verdict, as there were several shortcomings in the decision that could be legally addressed.
Talal Chaudhry further said the government had never objected to providing any prisoner with facilities available under the law. However, he said PTI founder Imran Khan should remember the language and attitude he had adopted towards prisoners and political opponents during his own tenure in government.
He alleged that PTI leaders had always sought to come to power by relying on the shoulders of others, but claimed that such support would no longer be available to them.
