Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Expedite Energy Projects; Strict Action Against Delays: CM Sohail Afridi

**Peshawar (Qudrat Daily)** —
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister **Muhammad Sohail Afridi** chaired an important meeting of the **Department of Energy and Power**, reviewing progress on ongoing and proposed energy projects across the province.

During the briefing, the Chief Minister directed that **all projects must be completed within the prescribed timelines**, warning that **strict action will be taken against officials responsible for delays**.

Afridi emphasized that issues related to the energy sector and the province’s rights in coordination with the federal government will be raised **effectively and formally**, approving the initiation of **official correspondence with federal authorities** on the matter.

He also instructed the preparation of a **comprehensive plan for the transmission and distribution** of electricity generated by local power plants. The Chief Minister announced that **industries in the province would receive electricity from local sources at subsidized rates** to promote industrial growth.

Highlighting the importance of the energy sector, CM Afridi stated that **energy projects play a crucial role in economic recovery, job creation, and industrial development**, reaffirming the government’s commitment to **advancing the sector on a priority basis**.
