Slain DSP Murid Bugti Laid to Rest with Full State Honours in Dera Bugti

DERA BUGTI: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Murid Bugti, who was martyred in a terrorist attack in Barkhan while performing his official duties, was laid to rest with full state honours in his native town of Dera Bugti following funeral prayers attended by senior civil and military officials, tribal elders, and a large number of mourners.

The funeral prayers were attended by Deputy Commissioner South Dera Bugti Muhammad Zohaib, Commandant Bambore Rifles Colonel Muhammad Khurram, tribal leader Mir Liaqat Rahija Bugti, Wadera Din Muhammad Marhatta Bugti, SHO City Noor Ali Bugti, police officer Mir Yousaf Khan Bugti, DSP Abdul Jabbar Magsi, CI In-charge Bilal Bugti, along with police officials, military personnel, political figures, tribal elders, and members of the public.

An atmosphere of deep grief prevailed during the burial ceremony as family members and relatives mourned the loss of the officer. Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyr’s ranks and for strength and patience for the bereaved family.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Balochistan Police presented a guard of honour, while the coffin, draped in the national flag, was taken to the graveyard with full official honours.

Speakers at the ceremony paid tribute to DSP Murid Bugti, saying he sacrificed his life in the line of duty and set a lasting example of courage, dedication, and public service. They said his sacrifice would always be remembered with honour and respect.

The slain officer’s family has previously suffered from terrorism. In 2010, two of his young daughters were killed in a shooting attack on the family’s residence in Dera Allah Yar, causing an irreparable loss to the family.

DSP Murid Bugti embraced martyrdom during a terrorist attack while carrying out his duties in Barkhan. His death has prompted widespread expressions of grief and condolences across Dera Bugti and the rest of Balochistan.
