JUI Condemns Hanna Urak Attack, Questions Government’s Performance on Law and Order

QUETTA: Leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) in Quetta have strongly condemned the armed attack in the Hanna Urak area, expressing concern over the province’s deteriorating security situation and criticizing the government’s handling of law and order.

In a joint statement, district chief Maulana Abdul Rahman Rafiq, Secretary General Haji Ainullah Shams, and Senior Vice President Maulana Khurshid Ahmed said it was deeply troubling that another attack had occurred near the cantonment area despite assurances given to the public. They said the incident, in which five civilians were reportedly injured, raised serious questions about the government’s ability to maintain peace and security.

The JUI leaders claimed that the absence of police and other law enforcement personnel forced local residents to defend themselves, creating fear and panic among women, children, and elderly residents.

They further stated that the reported armed attack, allegedly carried out in the name of a banned organization, posed a challenge to the state’s authority.

The party leaders called on the government to immediately restore law and order in the area, ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured, safeguard the lives and property of residents, and adopt effective measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. They warned that failure to do so could further erode public confidence in state institutions.
