Kharan Traders End Strike After Successful Talks with Rakhshan Range DIG

Kharan: Traders in Kharan have called off their indefinite shutter-down strike following successful negotiations with Rakhshan Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Abdul Hai Baloch, who assured the business community that those involved in recent thefts and robberies would be arrested and brought to justice.

The DIG visited the traders’ protest camp at Shahwani Chowk, where he held talks with representatives of the Kharan Traders Association. Following the meeting, the association announced an end to the strike.

A large number of traders, including Kharan Traders Association President Sheikh Munir Ahmed and other office-bearers, attended the negotiations.

Speaking on behalf of the business community, Sheikh Munir Ahmed said traders had been severely affected by a series of theft and robbery incidents. He stressed that the indefinite strike had been launched out of necessity rather than choice, as increasing crime had created a sense of insecurity among both traders and residents.

He warned that if those responsible for the crimes were not arrested promptly, the traders would intensify their protest and stage a sit-in outside the local police station.

Addressing the gathering, DIG Abdul Hai Baloch listened to the traders’ concerns and assured them that all available resources would be utilized to improve their security. He pledged that police would make every effort to identify and arrest those involved in the recent criminal incidents and bring them before the law.

The DIG also said the police were committed to restoring peace in Kharan and ensuring the safety of residents and the business community. He urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing timely information about criminal activities to help combat crime more effectively.

Following the assurances, the traders expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the talks and formally ended their shutter-down strike.
