No Area in Balochistan Is Beyond State Authority, Says Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti

KARACHI/QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said there is “not a single inch” of Balochistan where the writ of the state does not exist, while condemning the killing of Ali Murtaza and assuring full support for the victim’s family.

The chief minister visited the residence of the deceased in Karachi on Tuesday, where he met the bereaved family and offered his condolences.

Condemning the incident as a “heinous act,” Bugti said the Balochistan government stands with the victim’s family and announced that it would bear the expenses for the education, healthcare, and upbringing of Ali Murtaza’s children.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, the chief minister said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been tasked with conducting a transparent investigation into the case, adding that authorities are working to determine all the facts surrounding the incident.

Bugti said there are no “no-go areas” in Balochistan and that the state’s authority extends across the province, although security forces continue to face operational challenges.

He added that terrorists cannot be identified simply by appearance and cautioned against promoting negative narratives that could undermine the country and state institutions.

The chief minister said preliminary information indicates that the deceased had been staying at a friend’s house and had apparently lost his way before the incident. However, he emphasized that the complete facts would only become clear after the investigation is concluded.
