14 Prisoners Escape from Adiala Jail Transport Van; Four Recaptured, Search Underway for 10 Others
ISLAMABAD: Fourteen prisoners escaped from an Adiala Jail prison transport van near Chakian Stop in Islamabad, prompting a large-scale police operation to recapture the fugitives.
According to media reports, the prison van was transporting 34 inmates back to Adiala Jail when 14 prisoners managed to escape under unclear circumstances near Chakian Stop.
Police launched an immediate search operation and successfully rearrested four of the escaped inmates. Efforts are continuing to locate and apprehend the remaining 10 fugitives.
Authorities have not yet disclosed how the prisoners managed to escape from the prison vehicle. An investigation into the incident is expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the security breach.
Police have intensified search operations in and around the area to trace the remaining escaped prisoners.
