Three Arrested in Alleged Gang Rape Case in Peshawar

Peshawar: Police have arrested three suspects allegedly involved in the gang rape of a young woman in the Budh Bair area of Peshawar.

According to police, a First Information Report (FIR) was registered and legal action was initiated against the accused. Authorities also detained individuals who participated in a local jirga held between the suspects and the victim’s father following the incident.

Police said that during the jirga, it was reportedly decided that the main suspect would marry the victim. The jirga also allegedly agreed on the payment of money to the victim’s father as part of the settlement.

Law enforcement officials stated that the case is being investigated from multiple angles and that further inquiries are underway.

According to police, the alleged rape incident took place several months ago, while the matter recently came to the attention of authorities, leading to the arrests and ongoing investigation.
