Punjab Assembly Passes Resolution Seeking Ban on PTI Founder

Lahore: The Punjab Assembly has approved a resolution calling for a ban on the founder of Pakistan Tehreek‑e‑Insaf (PTI).
The resolution was presented in the House by PML‑N lawmaker **Tahir Pervaiz**. According to the text, Pakistan’s security institutions—responsible for safeguarding the nation on all fronts and defeating an enemy “five times larger like India”—deserve appreciation for their role in protecting national integrity.
The resolution states that any political or non‑political leader who engages in anti‑state rhetoric, spreads unrest, or acts as an “instrument of hostile foreign agendas” should be banned and dealt with strictly under the law. It further demands that such individuals be given exemplary punishment.
The resolution also pays tribute to the officers and personnel of Pakistan’s security institutions and their leadership for their services in ensuring the country’s stability and security.
