Fire Engulfs Islamabad’s H-9 Sunday Bazaar, Over 80 Stalls Destroyed

Islamabad: A major fire broke out at Islamabad’s H-9 Sunday Bazaar, destroying more than 80 stalls and causing extensive damage to the market.
According to rescue officials, the blaze spread across nine sections of the popular marketplace. Firefighters have managed to bring six of the affected sections under control, while efforts continued to fully extinguish the remaining fire.
Rescue authorities said additional firefighting vehicles were called in from Rawalpindi to assist in controlling the blaze due to its intensity.
Officials added that exploding batteries stored inside some shops contributed to the rapid spread of the fire and increased its intensity. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit.
No casualties have been reported so far. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage, while a detailed investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the incident.
