Pakistan Will Continue to Raise Kashmiris’ Voice at Every Global Forum: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD:Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said that Pakistan will continue to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people at every international forum and extend its political, moral and diplomatic support to their struggle for self-determination.

In a message issued on Kashmir Black Day, Dar said Indian troops entered Srinagar on October 27, 1947, and the Kashmir dispute remained unresolved despite nearly eight decades having passed.

He said the Kashmiri people continued to be deprived of their right to self-determination, adding that United Nations Security Council resolutions formed the basis for resolving the longstanding dispute.

Dar stated that the Kashmiri people’s struggle was for justice, peace and the right to self-determination. He added that international attention to the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir had increased following the August 5, 2019, measures.

The deputy prime minister expressed concern over the detention of political leaders in Indian-administered Kashmir and stressed the need for continued international attention to the human rights situation in the region.

He said the aspirations of the Kashmiri people could not be suppressed through force and coercion, urging the international community to play its role in protecting their fundamental rights.

Dar further emphasized that effective international efforts were essential for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing its political, moral and diplomatic support for the Kashmiri people and raising their concerns at every international forum.
