ECP Gilgit-Baltistan Reserves Verdict on Election Petitions in 7 Constituencies

Skardu: The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan (ECP GB) has completed hearings on election-related objections and petitions regarding seven constituencies and has reserved its verdict, which is expected to be announced later today.
Chief Election Commissioner Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Shahbaz presided over the proceedings, where petitions related to electoral disputes and requests for vote recounting were reviewed in detail.
Following the hearings, the election authority reserved its decision on all seven cases. According to officials, the announcement of the verdict is likely to clarify the final status of the contested constituencies.
It is worth noting that after the elections held on June 7, unofficial and preliminary results had led the Election Commission to withhold final notifications for these seats.
The withheld results include:
* GBA-19 Ghizer-II: Muhammad Abdul Jahan (PML-N) declared winner
* GBA-19 Ghizer-I: Syed Jalal Shah (PPP) won the seat
* GBA-3 Gilgit-III: Independent candidate Sohail Abbas victorious
* GBA-10 Skardu-IV: Raja Nasir Ali Khan (PPP) won
* GBA-15 Diamer-I: Independent candidate Muhammad Dilpazir declared winner
* GBA-5 Nagar-I: Zulfiqar Ali Murad (PPP) secured victory
The final announcement is expected to settle the political uncertainty in these constituencies.
