PM Shahbaz Sharif Calls 9 May Incident an Unforgivable Crime

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has condemned the events of May 9 as an “unforgivable crime.” During a press conference in London, he stated that there has been a campaign of “vile propaganda” on social media regarding these events and criticized the previous government’s efforts to undermine relations with China.

While engaging with various world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, including the Prime Minister of the UK and the President of Turkey, Shahbaz Sharif expressed his commitment to addressing global issues, including the plight of Palestinians. He emphasized the need for a ceasefire in Gaza and called for the establishment of a free Palestinian state.

The Prime Minister also addressed the situation in Kashmir, highlighting the ongoing struggle of Kashmiris for their rights. He noted that India’s actions, particularly the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019, violate international resolutions.

Furthermore, Shahbaz praised Army Chief General Asim Munir for his efforts in securing international financial support, stating that without the backing of countries like Saudi Arabia and China, the IMF program would not have been possible. He reiterated the importance of reforming the tax system to alleviate the burdens on the general public, urging the elite to contribute their fair share.

Shahbaz concluded by asserting that the sacrifices of the common people must be acknowledged and that it is now time for the wealthy to step up and support the nation’s economic recovery.
