Pakistani Student Makes History in Bulgaria, Secures Top Position Among 375 International Students

GUJRANWALA: A German-Pakistani student from Gujranwala, Dr. Muhammad Taha Cheema, has achieved a remarkable academic milestone by securing first position among 375 international students at a renowned medical university in Bulgaria.
Dr. Taha Cheema became the first Pakistani international student in the university’s history to graduate as the top student of his class. He completed his medical degree with distinction and earned the highest GPA of the graduating class of 2026.
In recognition of his outstanding academic performance, he was also selected as the valedictorian of the graduating batch and delivered the farewell speech during the graduation ceremony.

During his address, Dr. Taha Cheema quoted the famous motto of Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah — “Unity, Faith, Discipline” — and highlighted the importance of peace and harmony in the context of current global conflicts.
According to reports, the medical program initially enrolled 375 students, but through consistent hard work, exceptional academic performance, and dedication, Dr. Taha Cheema emerged as the highest achiever among all international students.
His achievement is being widely celebrated as a moment of pride not only for Pakistan but also for the overseas Pakistani community.
