Trump Calls National Security Meeting Amid Reports of Possible Action Against Iran

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has reportedly convened a National Security meeting today to discuss the situation regarding Iran, according to American media reports.
US media claimed that the meeting will focus on the possibility of restarting military operations against Iran in order to increase pressure over its nuclear program.
Reports suggest that senior officials expected to attend the meeting include Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine.
According to a news agency citing two officials, President Trump is increasingly leaning toward possible military measures aimed at intensifying pressure on Iran and securing concessions regarding its nuclear activities.
Media reports further stated that options likely to be discussed include restoring “Project Freedom” or launching strikes on remaining targets inside Iran.
President Trump had earlier warned that the ceasefire was “on life support.” He also stated that only the United States and China possess the technical capability to recover Iran’s nuclear particles and materials.
