Any Future Aggression Will Have Wide and Dangerous Consequences, Warns Field Marshal Asim Munir

Rawalpindi: Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir warned that any future act of aggression against Pakistan would result in “wide, dangerous, far-reaching, and painful consequences,” while addressing a ceremony marking one year of the “Battle of Haq” victory at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
The ceremony was attended by Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Naveed Ashraf, along with senior military officials. The Field Marshal and service chiefs laid floral wreaths at the martyrs’ memorial and offered prayers for fallen soldiers.
In his address, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the day was a matter of pride for Pakistan, stating that India had received a “decisive response” during the conflict which it would never forget.
He said the enemy had attempted to test Pakistan’s national resolve and dignity but failed due to its “outdated thinking and self-deception.”
“India dreamed of regional dominance but forgot that its ambitions were far greater than its capabilities,” he remarked.
The Field Marshal stated that the May 2025 conflict was not an isolated incident but part of a continued pattern of what he described as India’s aggressive and misleading behavior toward Pakistan.
Calling the “Battle of Haq” more than a conventional military confrontation, he said it represented a clash between two ideologies in which, according to him, Pakistan emerged victorious.
He claimed India had attempted to isolate Pakistan militarily and diplomatically but failed in its objectives. He stressed that Pakistan and its armed forces had never bowed to pressure and would not do so in the future.
Issuing a stern warning, he said:

“If any future aggression is attempted against Pakistan, the consequences of war will not remain limited but will be extremely broad, dangerous, far-reaching, and painful.”
Field Marshal Asim Munir also stated that Pakistan’s defense had become “invincible” against external aggression and emphasized that the armed forces remain fully prepared for both conventional and unconventional warfare.
He highlighted several defense modernization initiatives, including the establishment of Defence Forces Headquarters, expansion of the national space program, the Army Rocket Force Command, induction of modern weapons systems, the Fateh missile series, and new combat aircraft.
According to him, Pakistan’s defense preparedness is not limited to weapons alone but also includes innovation, advanced training, and research.
Speaking on military operations, he claimed that Pakistan’s strategic planning forced the enemy into retreat and that the Fateh Missile System and the Pakistan Air Force successfully targeted more than 26 military objectives.
He also praised the navy, saying naval forces kept the enemy far from maritime borders, while opposing troops on the Line of Control were allegedly forced to wave white flags.
The Field Marshal claimed India suffered heavy human and financial losses during the conflict and said Pakistan has now established a Multi-Domain Operation Center to better tackle future challenges.
He thanked the nation, political leadership, media, and youth for showing unity during the conflict and credited young people with countering enemy propaganda and cyber warfare.
Referring to regional diplomacy, he termed the recent defense agreement with Saudi Arabia a historic step and said Pakistan’s international standing had strengthened significantly.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing operations against terrorism until “the last terrorist is eliminated.”
Commenting on last year’s four-day conflict between Pakistan and India, Asim Munir claimed that India had requested a ceasefire through international channels after witnessing Pakistan’s military capabilities.
He further alleged that India sought mediation through the political leadership of the United States, which Pakistan accepted in the interest of regional peace.
The Field Marshal paid tribute to martyrs and veterans, calling the families of fallen soldiers “the crown of the nation,” and said Pakistan would remain unconquerable.
He also accused India of supporting terrorism after failing in conventional warfare and claimed that terrorist activities were being coordinated from both India and Afghanistan.
Calling on Afghanistan to act, he urged authorities there to eliminate terrorist sanctuaries and prevent militant groups from using Afghan soil against Pakistan.
