Speaker Balochistan Assembly Inaugurates Three New BHUs in Chaman, Reviews DHQ Hospital Services

Chaman – Speaker Balochistan Assembly Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai inaugurated three newly constructed Basic Health Units (BHUs) in remote areas of Chaman and also conducted a detailed visit of the New District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Chaman.
The inaugurated BHUs include BHU Killi Haji Fateh Muhammad, BHU Killi Haji Aghajan, and BHU Killi Haji Zain-ud-Din. The ceremony was attended by Secretary Health Mujeeb-ur-Rehman, Deputy Commissioner Chaman Habib Ahmed Bangalzai, DHO Chaman Dr. Naveed Badini, MS DHQ Hospital Dr. Naveed Badini, AC Chaman Imtiaz Ali Baloch, PPHI District Head Akram Khan Achakzai, and other senior officials.
On the occasion, health officials briefed the Speaker regarding the newly completed health facilities. Speaking at the event, Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai said that the current provincial government is committed to improving healthcare services in far-flung areas of Balochistan, and the establishment of three BHUs in Chaman is a clear example of this commitment.
He added that doctors, staff availability, and timely provision of medicines and emergency equipment are among the top priorities of the government. He emphasized that strict monitoring of attendance and discipline in the health department is essential, and no compromise will be made on public service delivery.
The Speaker said that all three BHUs will provide 24-hour emergency services with the presence of medical staff to ensure immediate healthcare facilities for the local population.
Later, he visited the New DHQ Hospital Chaman, where he inspected various departments including the laboratory, operation theatre, medical wards, emergency unit, and other facilities. He also interacted with patients and reviewed the availability of healthcare services.
During the visit, he checked the attendance of doctors and staff and reviewed cleanliness, hygiene standards, and overall hospital conditions. Health officials briefed him about hospital operations and facilities.
The Speaker and Secretary Health stressed that doctors and staff must ensure punctuality, proper attendance, and a professional attitude towards patients. They warned that negligence and absenteeism in the healthcare sector could put patients’ lives at risk.
They further directed hospital staff to treat patients with courtesy and ensure timely medical care for both physical and psychological well-being of patients.
Local residents welcomed the inauguration of the BHUs and praised the initiative, terming it a positive step for public welfare and healthcare improvement in the region. They expressed hope that development projects in Chaman would continue in the future as well.
