Sindh High Court Grants Bail to Woman Accused in Attempted Child Smuggling Case

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has approved the bail application of accused Kiren Sohail in a case involving an alleged attempt to smuggle a minor child abroad.
The court ordered the accused to submit surety bonds worth Rs500,000 for her release.
According to the prosecution, the accused allegedly attempted to take a minor child to Mozambique by falsely presenting him as her own son. Investigators claimed that during the inquiry, they identified a suspected network involving multiple individuals.
During the hearing, defence counsel Raja Riyaz Advocate argued that his client had been falsely implicated in the case. He further stated that co-accused individuals had already been granted bail and that no digital evidence had been produced against the accused.
The court observed that the statement of the prosecution’s key witness did not sufficiently establish the allegations against the accused. It further noted that no concrete evidence regarding financial transactions or forged documents had been presented, and no prior criminal record of the accused was submitted.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court approved the bail plea.
