Pakistan, Russia Discuss Bilateral Relations and Global Peace in High-Level Diplomatic Contact

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov today, during which both sides discussed bilateral relations and matters related to global and regional peace.
According to official details, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in multiple areas and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Russia.

During the conversation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the resumption of dialogue between Iran and the United States, acknowledging Islamabad’s efforts in promoting diplomacy and regional stability.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continuing efforts for resolving global and regional issues through dialogue and diplomacy, emphasizing peaceful engagement as a priority of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
Both leaders also stressed the importance of high-level contacts between the two countries and discussed the proposed visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Russia, agreeing to schedule it at an early mutually convenient time.
The two sides agreed to remain in close contact going forward. On the occasion, Ishaq Dar also extended an invitation to the Russian foreign minister to visit Pakistan.
