Trump Says Iran Deal ‘Close’ but Warns of War if No Agreement Reached by Deadline

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that a deal with Iran is likely to be reached soon, but emphasized that his administration will not rush into what he described as a “bad deal.”

Speaking to the media, Trump announced that a naval blockade on Iran will remain in place until an agreement is finalized. He also revealed that senior U.S. officials, including Vice President JD Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and adviser Jared Kushner, are scheduled to travel to Islamabad.

The U.S. president stated that any forthcoming agreement with Iran would be “better” than the nuclear deal negotiated during the administration of Barack Obama, adding that the outcome would be a source of global pride.

Trump also issued a stark warning, saying that if a deal is not reached by Wednesday, the situation could escalate into war. He dismissed media reports suggesting that he is under pressure to finalize an agreement, calling such claims inaccurate.

In his remarks, Trump criticized members of the Democratic Party, labeling them as weak and accusing them of undermining the achievements of the U.S. military and his administration. He further claimed that the United States is “winning on a very large scale,” while accusing sections of the media of misrepresenting the situation in Iran.

The comments come amid heightened geopolitical tensions, as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent further escalation.
