Hailstorm Devastates Crops in Qila Saifullah, Khushal Khan Kakar Urges Immediate Relief Measures

Qila Saifullah: Khushal Khan Kakar, Chairman of the Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party and Member of the National Assembly, has said that recent heavy rains and severe hailstorms have destroyed farmers’ crops in Qila Saifullah, wiping out a year’s hard work.
During an emergency visit to the affected areas, Kakar inspected the damage alongside party leaders, including provincial finance secretary Saeed Akbar Khan. The delegation visited multiple علاقوں where farmers and local elders briefed them on the extent of the losses.
According to affected farmers, the hailstorm and torrential rains have severely damaged standing crops, orchards, and agricultural infrastructure. Fruit trees, particularly apples and apricots, have suffered irreparable losses, while solar systems, tube wells, irrigation facilities, and farming machinery have also been badly affected.
Farmers warned that without immediate assistance, they could face complete financial ruin, as not only current crops but also the upcoming الزراعی season is at risk.
Kakar strongly criticized the performance of the district administration, stating that authorities should have responded with the same urgency as the disaster itself. He demanded that the government declare Qila Saifullah a calamity-hit area and immediately launch relief and rehabilitation efforts.
He further called for the formation of special survey teams to conduct a transparent and comprehensive assessment of the damages. Emphasizing accountability, he said negligence, delays, or favoritism in the process would not be tolerated.
Kakar urged the government to announce an immediate relief package, including financial assistance, provision of seeds and fertilizers, restoration of orchards, and repair of agricultural infrastructure to support affected farmers.
