Pakistan Says Iran–US Talks Still Possible, Positive Developments Reported: Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that the possibility of renewed talks between Iran and the United States still exists, adding that positive developments are being reported in ongoing diplomatic contacts.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Khawaja Asif said a new round of Iran–US negotiations is expected to begin soon. He noted that recent communication between the two sides has so far shown no negative developments, describing the situation as encouraging for regional stability.
The defence minister further said that all parties appear committed to resolving issues through dialogue, and only positive signals are being received regarding the diplomatic process.
In response to a question about whether Pakistan would play a role in shaping regional decisions, he remarked that ultimate decisions lie with Allah, who knows best what will happen.
Commenting on India, the minister made a sharp remark, saying that “India is frustrated and reacting emotionally,” reflecting heightened political rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to embark on visits to two important countries starting Wednesday. According to sources, he will arrive in Saudi Arabia on April 15 for high-level meetings with Saudi leadership.
After his Saudi visit, the prime minister will travel to Turkey to attend the Anatolian Diplomacy Forum, where he is expected to meet several world leaders on the sidelines of the event.
