Maulana Fazlur Rehman: Modi’s Remarks Show His Hostility Towards Islam and Muslims

LAHORE – The leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statements, calling them a reflection of his hostility towards Islam and Muslims. Speaking at the National Palestine Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan Ground in Lahore, Fazlur Rehman addressed the ongoing tensions surrounding the Pehlgam incident.

He questioned the validity of holding Pakistan accountable for the Pehlgam incident, stating, “What significance does it hold to blame Pakistan for the Pehlgam incident?” He also condemned Modi’s actions, stating that Modi’s announcement clearly demonstrates his anti-Islam stance.

Fazlur Rehman went on to accuse Israel of being a war criminal, highlighting its atrocities against women and children. He noted that the International Court of Justice had already passed a verdict against Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, calling for his arrest.

The JUI-F leader further remarked that Modi’s alignment with Israel was evident, adding that India has a long history of cowardly attacks against Pakistan.

In his speech, Maulana Fazlur Rehman called on the government to swiftly implement laws concerning religious seminaries, emphasizing that the struggle for the freedom of Palestine and the protection of religious seminaries are part of the same fight. He vowed to continue the battle for the survival and protection of religious institutions.
