Over 3,700 Government Vehicles Untraceable in Balochistan, Report Reveals

Quetta — A major administrative lapse has surfaced in Balochistan, where thousands of government vehicles remain unaccounted for, according to a report submitted to Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti.

The report, compiled by the provincial Excise Department, revealed that out of 14,304 registered government vehicles in its database, the existence of 3,672 vehicles could not be verified during a recent audit process.

Department-wise details show significant discrepancies. The Agriculture Department tops the list, with 1,142 vehicles untraceable. The Police Department has 443 such vehicles, while 171 vehicles under Local Government could not be verified.

In Quetta, the Health Department failed to account for 168 vehicles, and the Education Department could not verify 131 vehicles. Additionally, 113 vehicles each from the Administration Department and the Planning and Development Department are missing from records.

The report further noted that 65 vehicles under the Planning Department and 63 under the Social Welfare Department are also unaccounted for.

Taking serious notice of the situation, Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti has formed a three-member committee to investigate the matter and trace the missing vehicles. The committee has been tasked with identifying المسؤولین and ensuring accountability.
