Severe Flooding and Storms Devastate Naseerabad Division, Hundreds of Villages Submerged

Dera Murad Jamali: Torrential rains and thunderstorms have wreaked havoc across Naseerabad Division, including districts such as Jaffarabad, Kachhi, Jhal Magsi, Dera Bugti, Bolan, Sibi, and other areas, leaving hundreds of villages submerged and thousands of families displaced.

Breaches in the Nari Bank and Kachhi Canal caused floodwaters to sweep away livestock, destroy crops worth millions of rupees, and inundate residential areas. Roads connecting Sindh and Balochistan have been cut off, stranding travelers on highways. In Dera Murad Jamali, several mud houses collapsed, injuring multiple residents.

The floods have submerged over 100 rural settlements in Dera Bugti and surrounding areas, while wheat, gram, mustard, and other standing crops have been ruined. Residents have been forced to move to safer locations under self-help measures, as no official rescue operations have yet been initiated.

Traffic between Sindh and Balochistan has been paralyzed, with long queues forming and roads blocked at Sibi, Dhadar, Dera Murad Jamali, and other points. Power outages have further compounded the difficulties faced by local populations.

Authorities have yet to launch any large-scale relief efforts, leaving daily life in affected areas completely disrupted, while rain continues to batter low-lying regions, worsening the humanitarian situation.
