Supreme Court Committee Orders Removal of Obstacles in Diamer-Bhasha Dam Construction

Islamabad** — Delays in the construction of **Diamer-Bhasha Dam** have been deemed a threat to the country’s survival, prompting a **Supreme Court of Pakistan**-mandated committee to order immediate removal of obstacles.
The meeting of the **“Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Implementation Committee”**, chaired by **Lt. Gen. (R) Muhammad Saeed**, reviewed two critical aspects of the dam project.
Following directives from the Supreme Court, the committee appealed to local communities and provincial authorities to eliminate construction barriers and accelerate land acquisition for the dam.
The committee warned that further delays could pose serious risks to Pakistan’s **water, food, and energy security**, emphasizing the urgency of completing the project without interruption.
