Rain Forecasted for Major Cities Across Pakistan
Karachi:Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta** – Various cities across Pakistan are expected to experience rain today, according to forecasts. Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz stated that a low-pressure system moving towards Balochistan is contributing to these weather patterns. Karachi is likely to see intermittent light rain and drizzle throughout the day.
Sardar Sarfraz also indicated that a new weather system from the Bay of Bengal might enter eastern Sindh around August 10 or 11, which could lead to increased rainfall in Karachi and other parts of Sindh starting August 12.
This morning, light rain in Karachi has already made the weather more pleasant. The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain across various locations in the country, with some areas potentially experiencing heavy downpours.
In other news, district Astore has been hit by severe flooding, causing damage to homes, crops, and orchards. Additionally, the Chitral River is experiencing a high-level flood due to glacier melting, prompting authorities to set up tent settlements for affected residents.
In Dadu, water levels in the Gaj Nadi have risen to 10 feet, and in Khairpur, a breach in a protective embankment due to water pressure has submerged several areas.
