Punjab School Education Department Orders Evacuation of All Dangerous School Buildings

LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department has issued an order to vacate all schools in the province that have dangerous or partially dangerous buildings.

The department sent a directive to all district authorities instructing them to seal such school buildings immediately. According to the circular, under no circumstances should students be allowed to enter these hazardous structures, and no student will be permitted to sit or study in them.

The department also directed that warning signboards be installed on the buildings of dangerous and partially dangerous government schools. It emphasized that any untoward incident in such premises will be the responsibility of the respective district education authority and the headteacher.
