Pakistan Likely to Begin Ramadan on February 19, 2026, Meteorological Department Predicts

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** The Meteorological Department of Pakistan has released a fresh prediction regarding the start of Ramadan 2026, indicating that the first fast is expected to begin on **February 19, 2026**, based on astronomical calculations showing strong chances of moon sighting.

**Moon Birth Time:** According to the department, the Ramadan crescent will be born on **February 17 at 5:01 PM**. Experts say that the next day, the moon’s age and weather conditions are favorable for sighting, increasing the likelihood of its visibility.

**Possibility of Moon Sighting on February 18:** The Meteorological Department has stated that the crescent is highly likely to be sighted in various parts of Pakistan on **February 18**, which forms the basis for expecting the first day of Ramadan on **February 19**. However, the final announcement will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

**Moon Age and Sunset in Karachi:** In Karachi, the crescent is expected to be about **26 hours old** on February 18. On the same day, the sun will set at **6:25 PM**, while the moon will set at **7:24 PM**, providing a suitable period for moon sighting.

**First Day of Ramadan:** Based on astronomical analysis and the favorable sighting conditions on February 18, **Ramadan is likely to begin on Thursday, February 19, 2026**. The final confirmation will follow the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s official meeting.
