KP Aide Shafi Jan Says ‘Imran Khan Release Force’ Not a Political Wing

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Information, Shafi Jan, has said that the proposed force formed for the release of Imran Khan will be dissolved once the former premier is freed, adding that it is not a political wing.
Speaking to the media, Shafi Jan said the party is reconsidering its protest strategy and would return to action after Ramadan. He explained that the “Imran Khan Release Force” would be established in the context of a street movement and that anyone could become a member through a formal registration process, which would include taking an oath.
He reiterated that the force is not a political wing and clarified that there have been no backdoor contacts aimed at ending the protest movement.
It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi, had earlier announced the formation of a force to work for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
