PTA Announces Free Wi-Fi in Selected Universities for 6 Months, Offers 24-Hour Free Internet and Call Minutes

Lahore: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced the launch of free Wi-Fi hotspots in selected universities for a period of six months. In addition, PTA is offering mobile users 2GB of free internet data and 200 on-net call minutes, valid for 24 hours.
According to details, the number of broadband users in Pakistan has reached 150 million, while fiber optic users now stand at 2 million. To avail the free data and minutes, users can dial *2200# from their mobile phones.
As part of this initiative, PTA will also distribute 200 smartphones among female SIM card holders, aiming to promote digital inclusion and connectivity.
