Heavy Police Deployment Outside Parliament House Ahead of PTI Protest Over Imran Khan’s Health
Islamabad: Ahead of a planned protest by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf regarding the health of its founder Imran Khan, authorities have deployed a large number of police personnel and blocked key routes leading to the Parliament House Islamabad and D-Chowk.
Main Constitution Avenue has been completely blocked, and roads leading from D-Chowk to the Red Zone are also closed. Traffic coming from Serena Chowk toward Parliament House has been stopped, and pedestrians are not being allowed to proceed. Heavy police presence has been deployed outside the main gate of Parliament House.
PTI members of the National Assembly, Iqbal Afridi and Umair Niazi, were reportedly stopped at Radio Pakistan Chowk. Additionally, a brief confrontation occurred between the police and Fatehullah Khan, a PPP member, when he attempted to access Parliament.
Earlier today, the Senate also discussed the health of the PTI founder, with both government and opposition members raising the matter, intensifying public and political attention on the issue.
