Security Claims in Hub Disputed: CCTV Footage Reveals Theft by a Levies Officer
Hub:Claims of safety in Hub city have been called into question following recent incidents of theft and looting. On the previous day, a motorbike belonging to Levies officer Waqar Ali was stolen in front of Agha Biryani Center. CCTV footage of the theft has emerged, showing the incident clearly.
In a separate event, a group of three motorbike riders conducted a robbery on Lasi Road the following night. Despite the arrival of patrolling police officers who fired two warning shots, the robbers managed to escape.
The city has seen a troubling rise in incidents of theft, robbery, and mobile phone snatching. Recently, the minority trader community in Hub protested at the Press Club against the increasing crime rate on Lasi Road and Mahmoodabad Road. However, influential individuals allegedly intimidated the protesting Hindu traders, causing them to withdraw their protest.
During a press conference held by Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, Advisor to the Chief Minister for Industry and Trade, questions were raised about the deteriorating security situation in Hub. Zehri claimed the city’s security was satisfactory, but his response left the city’s municipal corporation councilors, who are advocating for change and development in Hub, speechless. One councilor remarked that frequent incidents in such a large city were not surprising.
