Imam Bargah Blast Was a Suicide Attack; Attacker’s Afghanistan Travel History Traced: Minister of State for Interior

**Islamabad:** Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has confirmed that the blast at an Imam Bargah was a suicide attack and said authorities have obtained key details about the attacker, including his travel history to Afghanistan.
Speaking to the media, Talal Chaudhry said preliminary investigations indicate that the perpetrators were sponsored from across the border. He stated that the incident came to the notice of the Islamabad administration at **1:42 pm**, and according to information gathered so far, **31 people were killed** while **more than 100 were injured**.
The minister said an emergency has been imposed in Islamabad’s hospitals, adding that on the directives of the Prime Minister and the Interior Minister, he remained present at **PIMS Hospital** to oversee arrangements.
Talal Chaudhry said the identity of the suicide bomber has been established. While the attacker was not an Afghan national, details have emerged regarding the number of times he traveled to Afghanistan.
He claimed that the attack was carried out by the banned **Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA)**, alleging that the group targets soft locations and has crossed all limits of brutality. He also disclosed that among the 31 martyrs was a cousin of the Islamabad Inspector General of Police.
The minister said the **National Action Plan** is being implemented without any leniency. He added that the Interior Minister has visited the Imam Bargah and obtained a full briefing on the incident.
