Light Rain Expected in Karachi Today, Cold Wave to Intensify from Friday: Met Office

Karachi:The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast **light rain in Karachi today**, with a **significant increase in cold weather from Friday**.

According to the Met Office, a **new western weather system** is affecting the upper and western parts of the country. Deputy Director PMD **Anjum Nazir Zaigham** said the system has started impacting **Balochistan since last night** and is expected to **enter western districts of Sindh today**.

He stated that **rain is likely in western Sindh**, while **light rainfall may also occur in Karachi** later today.

Anjum Nazir added that **snowfall continues in the mountainous areas of northern Balochistan**, the effects of which will be felt in Sindh, including Karachi.

He further warned that **Karachi will come under the influence of a cold wave from Friday**, with temperatures likely to **drop into single digits once again**.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to **take precautionary measures** in view of the cold weather conditions.
