Heightened Surveillance of Pakistan Airspace Amid Threat of Indian Aggression; All Flights to Gilgit and Skardu Cancelled

KARACHI: In light of possible Indian aggression, Pakistan has begun strict monitoring of its airspace. New directives have been issued to Air Traffic Control (ATC) for enhanced vigilance, particularly concerning foreign flights transiting through Pakistani airspace.
According to sources, all foreign flights, especially those originating from India, are under increased scrutiny. Clearance for any suspicious flights will now require high-level approval.
As part of heightened security measures, all scheduled flights to Gilgit and Skardu have been cancelled for today. Affected Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights include PK-601, PK-603, and PK-605 from Islamabad to Gilgit, PK-451 from Islamabad to Skardu, as well as PK-602 and PK-604 from Gilgit to Islamabad.
However, Airblue operated its Islamabad-Skardu flight PA-251 and the return flight PA-252 as scheduled.
Authorities continue to closely monitor the situation, and further operational decisions will be made based on evolving security assessments.
