Protests Escalate in Gwadar; Interior Minister Vows to Address Violence

Gwadar:A high-level meeting chaired by Balochistan’s Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove addressed the deteriorating situation in Gwadar, following recent protests. The meeting, which included Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Ahmedullah Rahman and other senior officials, provided a detailed briefing on the state of law and order and the latest developments in the region.

According to the briefing, while the situation was under control yesterday, protests resumed today. Demonstrators attacked the Women’s Police Station in Gwadar, resulting in damage and injuries to two police officers. The agitated protesters also vandalized and set fire to the B&R office in Gwadar, destroying official records.

Interior Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove condemned the attacks, urging protesters not to test the limits of government and state patience further. He questioned the humanity of causing suffering to ordinary, impoverished citizens during such protests. Langove emphasized that while the government does not object to lawful protests, damage to public property and assaults on security forces will not be tolerated.

The meeting is expected to lead to several significant decisions aimed at addressing the ongoing unrest and restoring order in Gwadar.
