Allegations of Massive Corruption in Revenue Department Recruitments Surface in Sibi, Protest Sit-In Continues

**Sibi:** Serious allegations of large-scale corruption, nepotism, and violation of merit have emerged regarding recruitments in the Revenue Department in Sibi, where protesters have staged a sit-in outside the Commissioner’s Office.

According to protesters, illegal appointments were made in the Revenue Department by bypassing due process, with claims that corruption amounting to nearly Rs18 billion was involved. Speakers at the protest alleged that the Personal Secretary (PS) to the Commissioner of Sibi unlawfully recruited five of his close relatives, blatantly violating merit, laws, and constitutional rules.

The protesters stated that these appointments were carried out without the approval of the Provincial Minister for Revenue, terming the process illegal and unjust. They said such actions have deprived educated and deserving youth of their rightful opportunities.

The sit-in was led by Mir Roheel Khan Domki, a young political leader and son of former caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Ali Mardan Domki. The protest was attended by a large number of political leaders, candidates, and citizens, including PPP provincial leader Mir Fareed Khan Raisani, PPP district president Haji Ghulam Rasool Silachi, MQM-Pakistan district president Mir Saleem Khan Marghzani, and other social and political figures.

During the protest, Provincial Minister for Revenue Mir Aasim Kurd Gello addressed the participants via telephone, declaring the appointments illegal. He stated that recruitments were made by bypassing his office and demanded the immediate suspension of the appointments, along with fresh tests and interviews based strictly on merit.

The protesters demanded that the Chief Minister of Balochistan and the Chief Secretary order an immediate, transparent, and impartial investigation into the matter and ensure restoration of merit-based appointments. They warned that the scope of the protest would be expanded if their demands were not met.
