Talks Between Government and Business Community Succeed, Strike Called Off

Quetta (Kudrat Daily) — Balochistan Adviser for Home Affairs Babar Yousafzai has announced that successful negotiations between the provincial government and representatives of the business community, Chamber of Commerce, and transporters have resulted in the end of the ongoing strike.

He said the talks were held on the instructions of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and were led by Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langove, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamad Shafqat, and Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini. The discussions concluded with a consensus between all parties.

Babar Yousafzai stated that the provincial government is fully aware of the challenges faced by traders, transporters, and the business sector and is taking serious and practical measures to address their legitimate concerns. He said the government’s objective is to facilitate the public, promote economic activities, and ensure a secure business environment.

He further said that anti-Pakistan elements and those seeking to create instability in Balochistan are attempting to damage the province’s economic lifeline. According to him, these elements are targeting traders, transporters, and businesses in an effort to spread fear, disrupt commercial activities, and slow the pace of development.

The adviser emphasized that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the provincial government is committed to public welfare, maintaining law and order, and strengthening economic stability. He added that the Chief Minister has directed authorities to ensure that no citizen, trader, or businessperson faces unnecessary difficulties and that their issues are addressed on a priority basis.

Yousafzai expressed confidence that the government, security agencies, business community, and the public would work together to defeat the designs of those working against the development and prosperity of Pakistan and Balochistan.

He also appreciated the positive cooperation and responsible attitude of the business community, Chamber of Commerce, and transporters, stating that the end of the strike would help restore commercial activities and further strengthen the provincial economy.

He reaffirmed that the provincial government will remain in close contact with all stakeholders and continue taking every possible step in the interest of the public, law and order, and economic stability.
