Saba Qamar Responds Sarcastically to Petition Seeking Case Over Police Uniform

Lahore: Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar Zaman has once again made headlines, not for a new drama or film, but over a legal petition filed against her, to which she has responded with sarcasm and humor.
A petition has been submitted to the Lahore Sessions Court seeking registration of a case against Saba Qamar for allegedly wearing a police uniform without official permission. The plea claims that the actress donned an SP-rank police uniform in violation of the law.
The controversy gained momentum after a video began circulating on social media showing Saba Qamar inside a dressing room wearing the SP uniform. Following the video’s circulation, questions were raised by various quarters, sparking debate online.
Amid the controversy, Saba Qamar reshared an Instagram post by Diva Magazine Editor-in-Chief Raheel Rao, who strongly defended the actress. In his post, Rao sarcastically questioned whether an actor portraying a police officer should instead appear in bridal attire or a lawn suit, emphasizing that costumes are determined by the script and storyline, not by personal assumptions.
Reacting to Rao’s statement, Saba Qamar chose a humorous response rather than silence. She wrote on her Instagram story, “Oh God! It seems I’ve become very famous these days,” accompanied by smiling emojis. Her sarcastic remark was widely appreciated by social media users.
It is pertinent to mention that the petition was filed by citizen Wasim Zawar through his lawyer Aftab Bajwa. The petitioner argued that under the law, no individual is allowed to use a police uniform or an SP badge without official authorization. Legal proceedings in the matter have begun, while Saba Qamar’s witty response continues to draw attention on social media.
