Disappointing Big Bash Debut for Shaheen Afridi as Umpires Stop Him from Bowling

*Islamabad (Qudrat Daily)* Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi had a disappointing outing in his Big Bash League (BBL) debut, as umpires stopped him from bowling due to dangerous deliveries.

During the match between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Renegades, Shaheen conceded 43 runs in 2.4 overs without taking a wicket. His spell included three no-balls and two wides. Although he started well with three dot balls in his second over, he failed to maintain consistent line and length afterward.

In the 18th over of the Renegades’ innings, Shaheen bowled two waist-high full-toss deliveries to Tim Seifert and Ollie Peake. Following these dangerous balls, the umpires intervened and barred him from bowling further.

After being taken out of the attack, Shaheen Afridi was seen with a slight smile on his face, while Brisbane Heat captain Nathan McSweeney was forced to bowl the final two deliveries of the over himself.

Melbourne Renegades posted a massive total of 212 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Tim Seifert played a brilliant knock of 102 runs off 56 balls, while Ollie Peake scored 57 runs from 29 deliveries. Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan, who was making his BBL debut for the Renegades, batted at number three but was dismissed for four runs off 10 balls.
