Pakistan’s First Reality Dating Show ‘Lazawal Ishq’ Sparks Uproar, Viewers Demand Ban

Lahore: Pakistan’s first reality TV dating show, *Lazawal Ishq*, has ignited fierce controversy immediately after its debut, with outraged viewers calling for the program to be taken off air.
Hosted by actress Ayesha Omar and filmed in a villa in Turkey, the show features four men and four women living under one roof in search of their “eternal love.” The first episode, uploaded on the show’s official YouTube channel, introduced the participants and showcased their initial interactions. Within days, the video had crossed 128,000 views.
Despite the growing audience, the comments section was flooded with backlash. Many viewers labeled the show “cheap,” “immoral,” and “against cultural values.” One user wrote: *“Such a disgraceful show! A waste of money and my 10 minutes. I reported it, now it’s your turn.”* Another commented: *“Allah guide such people. Please boycott this program.”*
The main criticism centered on the format, with users objecting to unmarried men and women staying together under the same roof. Some viewers openly urged others to report the content to YouTube, while many demanded that the program be banned altogether.
While *Lazawal Ishq* continues to gain attention and views, it has simultaneously become one of the most controversial reality TV shows in Pakistan’s history — sparking a debate over cultural boundaries, media ethics, and audience expectations.
