Karachi: The alleged sexual assault and death of a one-and-a-half-year-old girl in Karachi has triggered widespread outrage across Pakistan, with several celebrities condemning the incident and demanding strict punishment for those responsible.
Actress Mishi Khan expressed shock over the tragedy, saying the country is witnessing an alarming rise in such crimes because perpetrators often escape severe punishment. She called for the harshest possible legal action against those responsible and urged the Sindh government to ensure justice.

According to initial reports, the toddler was allegedly taken from her home by her 17-year-old cousin under the pretext of taking her out. She was later brought back in critical condition and was rushed to hospital, where she died during treatment.
Police said the case is being investigated as an alleged sexual assault. Authorities have arrested the 17-year-old suspect from his residence, and further investigations are underway. Officials added that the final findings will depend on the completion of the investigation, forensic evidence, and court proceedings.
