Pakistani Man Executed in Saudi Arabia for Drug Smuggling; Family Devastated

Riyadh: A Pakistani national has been executed in Saudi Arabia after being convicted of a serious drug trafficking offense, according to the Saudi Ministry of Interior. The man was reportedly found guilty of smuggling a large quantity of illegal narcotics into the Kingdom.
Under Saudi Arabia’s strict anti-drug laws, trafficking in narcotics such as heroin, cocaine, or other banned substances — particularly in quantities exceeding 50 grams — is punishable by death. Lesser quantities may result in lengthy prison sentences and heavy fines.
Saudi authorities enforce these laws rigorously. Drug trafficking cases are often fast-tracked through the judicial system, with trials typically concluded within one to two weeks, followed by immediate implementation of sentences, including capital punishment.
Sources also confirmed that on the same day, a Saudi citizen, Ali bin Alawi bin Mohammed Al-Alawi, was executed on charges of terrorism and treason. He was accused of participating in terrorist activities, joining a banned organization, and attempting to destabilize the country’s security.
The execution of the Pakistani national has deeply shocked and saddened his family back home in Pakistan, who are reportedly devastated by the news.
