Thousands Arrested in Saudi Arabia for Violating Iqama, Labor, and Border Laws
**Islamabad:** Saudi authorities have intensified operations against **illegal expatriates**, resulting in the arrest and deportation of thousands of individuals.
According to **local media SPA**, during the week of **January 22–28, 2026**, a total of **19,975 violations** of **Iqama, labor, and border laws** were recorded. During the same period, **14,867 illegal residents were deported** to their home countries.
Breaking down the violations, **12,906 were related to Iqama regulations**, **3,918 to border security laws**, and **3,151 to labor regulations**. Additionally, **1,419 people attempting illegal entry into Saudi Arabia** were arrested, of whom **60% were Ethiopian, 39% Yemeni, and 1% from other countries**.
Authorities also detained **48 individuals** attempting to enter neighboring countries illegally, along with **11 others involved in facilitating illegal travel, residence, employment, or sheltering**. These measures reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enforce its immigration, labor, and border control regulations.
