Gold Prices in Pakistan Surge Sharply by Rs 5,900 Per Tola

Karachi: Gold prices in Pakistan soared on Monday amid global market volatility, making the precious metal even more inaccessible for the average consumer. The price of gold per tola (11.66 grams) surged by Rs 5,900, reaching Rs 353,100, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.
The sudden spike comes in the wake of a significant Russian offensive in Ukraine, which has triggered uncertainty in international gold markets. As a result, both global and local gold prices have seen sharp upward trends.
The price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs 5,058, bringing the new rate to Rs 302,726.
In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged. The rate for one tola of silver stayed at Rs 3,356, and 10 grams of silver held steady at Rs 2,962.
On the international front, gold prices rose by $59, reaching $3,347 per ounce, reflecting increased investor demand for safe-haven assets in times of geopolitical tension.
