Petrol Prices in Pakistan Likely to Rise by Rs100 per Litre Amid Global Oil Surge

Islamabad — Petrol prices in Pakistan are expected to increase by up to Rs100 per litre as the government prepares to pass on the burden of rising global oil prices to consumers, according to reports.
Sources indicate that the federal government has made a final decision to adjust fuel prices in line with international market trends. The move comes as a significant gap has emerged between local fuel prices and import costs.
Reports suggest that petrol is currently priced around Rs100 per litre lower than its actual import cost, while diesel prices are estimated to have a gap exceeding Rs200 per litre. This discrepancy has reportedly prompted authorities to consider a substantial price hike.
An official announcement regarding the revised fuel prices is expected in the coming days.
If implemented, the increase would place additional financial pressure on consumers already facing inflation, while aligning domestic fuel rates more closely with global market prices.
